Aid Effectiveness Planning Processes - Round Table Mechanisms

Overview  | Round Table Mechanisms

Round Table Mechanisms

The principle Round Table Mechanisms include Round Table Meetings, Round Table Implementation Meetings, and Sector Working Groups.

Round Table Meetings

Round Table Meetings are held every three years. These meetings review plan, strategies and programmes of the Government of Lao and Development Partners in accordance with the National Aid Effectiveness Agenda. The meetings also provide an opportunity for Development Partners to commit funding pledges.

For fifteen years (1983 to 1997), the three-yearly Round Table Meetings were held in Geneva, however following a review in 1999 it was agreed to turn the RTM into a continuing dynamic process held in-country, rather than just a one-off meeting every three years.
